I haven’t blogged lately because of school works, business (as in busy-ness) and stuff, but for sure, this blog will never be forgotten. hehe 
Anyways, the past three months were a torture not only for me, but also for my group mates and for our old but trusty desktop. Think of this: I run heavy application development programs simultaneously; For an old spec’ed PC? It’ll surely bend on its knees. (Though PCs don’t really have knees HAHA – I’m joking.) I’m happy with what I do but I’m not happy with what our desktop do. Sluggish performance, annoying load times, lock-ups: all part of the silent protest of our old desktop. The machine is like saying:
Stop stressing me! I can’t take this anymore.
Oh well, summer 2010 is the fulfillment of our old desktop’s cry. I’m an IT student and what I need for a PC are performance, efficiency, speed, and some entertainment. (Big grin

I’m currently typing this post on a Middle East version of the model, Asus N61JQ-JX007V. A quick run down of the specs:

I was wowed the first time I popped this thing on. The performance is great. No more hang ups. No hiccups. Just perfect. The i7 processor has 4 cores and supports Hyper Threading – adding additional 4 virtual threads, for a total of 8 working threads. That’s a lot of horse power for very heavy computing. Plus, ATI Mobility Radeon 5730 supports ATI Stream, which adds extra computing power for tasks such as video and music encoding, and content creation. Windows 7 Home Premium empowers the entertainment needs of anyone, anytime. You won’t be asking for more.
This laptop belongs to Asus N Series – Asus’ laptop line of nicely configured entertainment laptop. This time is free time. No school works and stuff. I’m enjoying the summer with Need For Speed Shift. The graphics is superb. Sims 3 you’re next!
